“Beading with Laura” – Crystal Square Set
October 21, 2020 @ 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
Crystal Square Set
This sparkling design uses seed beads and bicones to surround Swarovski chatons in a series of linked squares to make a bracelet. You can also use a single component as a dainty pendant, and even make a pair of matching earrings!
This piece is designed by Assza, www.etsy.com/shop/asszabeadingarts/
Difficulty Level: Intermediate 2
This piece is suitable for beaders who are comfortable with reading bead patterns and know many of the common stitches and terminology
There is no charge to participate in a “Beading with Laura” session
Pattern & Materials
This piece is featured in Bead & Button Magazine, August 2020 Edition.
You must bring your copy of the magazine with you to this session. If you do not already have a copy of the magazine, we have them available for sale at the shop.
The materials list can be found in the magazine. I already completed a bracelet, following the designers list fairly closely, except for opting for a 2-strand clasp instead of single-strand. I enjoyed it so much I’m thinking about making a second one in another colorway and thought some of you might like to join me!
We kindly ask that you use beads purchased at our store when in our beading room.
“Beading with Laura”
Beading at home is a relaxing and enjoyable hobby, there is no doubt about it, but beading in a group is FUN! That’s what many of us have missed most during the pandemic. This has inspired a new event we’ll be hosting once or twice a month. Laura will pick a project that catches her eye, either purchased from a designer’s website or Etsy shop, or published in a magazine. We’ll invite our beaders who may be interested in making the same piece to join her for a fun group beading session.
There is no charge to participate, however each person needs to purchase their own copy of the pattern in advance. We like having the opportunity to support and bring attention to all the talented designers out there. Seats will be limited and reserved on a first-come-first-served basis. Attendees should already have experience in bead-weaving and a comfort level with reading patterns, since this is not a class and the chosen projects will not be at a beginner level.
(For those of you that were familiar with our “Bead Circles” before, this is similar, but modified to adjust to the increase in online content and loss of Bead & Button magazine.)
