Grand Opening Party Tomorrow!

Saturday, September 29, 12-4 pm

We will have food, cake, door prizes and fun!

We are also excited to have Marcia Balonis, author of “Lush & Layered Beadweaving” joining us for a book signing event from 1-3. Marcia will be offering a couple of complimentary classes in the coming months for beaders who have purchased the book. We will have more details and begin taking registrations at the event, but spaces are limited and these classes will be first-come-first-served.

We hope to see you!

New Products Just In

The new products have been pouring in, however it will take us a little time to inventory everything, so watch for new goodies to be available a little at a time. This week we added:

  • Several more colors of Toho Demi-Round beads, which will be perfect for the Grand Duchess Bracelet (scroll down for details)
  • Mesh tubing which is perfect for putting inside Russian Spirals or Peyote with a Twist to give your piece a little more structure. We have both light and dark.
  • We also received the brand new book by Marla Salezze “Learn to Stitch Beaded Jewelry”, which is just perfect to beaders just starting out.

Keep watching as we continue to add new products everyday. We are particularly excited to introduce Amos par Puca and Paisley Duo beads in the next week or so. Enjoy!

Intermediate Level Class:

Russian Leaves
Russian leaves are stitched using diagonal peyote. They can be a bit tricky to master at first, but once you’ve got the hang of it they can actually be quick work up. What you do with them next is up to you! You can make up something as simple as a pair of earrings as shown above, or stitch an assortment of them to a spiral necklace and make a much more detailed piece as shown below.

Perfect for Beginners:

“Crystal Boxes”
This sparkling bracelet is wonderfully simple to make! Stitch single-row right-angle-weave and ladder to create a base of connected squares made of bugles, then embellish with crystal bicones.

Basic Kumihimo with Beads
Kumihimo is the ancient Japanese art of braid making. You’ll learn how to interlace strands of cording on a disc, while dropping beads into position. If you’ve never tried it before, we’re sure you’ll enjoy this very unique form of beading!

“DNA” Spiral Rope
This Stitch Workshop will teach you how to create a beaded spiral rope. There are many types of spiraling techniques, however this particular spiral is often referred to as a “DNA” spiral because of the loops all rotating around a beaded core. This soft and flowing necklace is wonderful for combining with your beaded pendants, or to simply make a casual bracelet.
